Have you ever noticed that photos taken locally on your phones are sometimes geotagged to Pulau Ujong? That’s because Singapore has 64 islands, and before the main island was called Temasek and Singapura, it was first known as Pulau Ujong.
The name comes from one of the earliest reference to Singapore, a 3rd century Chinese text. Since then, we’ve had many names as we evolved. Today, as we look around, where are the pockets of spaces where we might still find traces of Pulau Ujong?
