Popiah is a well-loved dish sold in hawker centres or coffeeshops, but also increasingly popular as a DIY option. Ingredients such as shredded turnip, bean sprouts, egg, diced peanuts, sweet sauce, and shrimp are wrapped in a wheat flour skin that is delicate and thin, yet resilient enough to pack all the ingredients within. Many Singaporeans also love to add a dash of chilli garlic sauce to give the popiah an extra tinge of spicy flavour!
