How does a diverse community that accepts each other and live harmoniously sound like? For youths Moses Dela Cerna, Ryan Tay, and Miguel Adefuin, their desire to build a stronger Singapore reverberates powerfully in their original composition, ‘United Tune’. Reflecting on Singapore’s multicultural society, they hope that Singaporeans will continue to “uphold and maintain the harmony that we have in society”.
Just as harmony in music requires more than just diverse notes, we will need genuine empathy to create a symphony of unity and strength in Singapore society. As the uplifting lyrics go,
“The strings of a symphony
don't ring alone in this world
in unison will make a sweeter harmony.”
