Learn how MINDEF/SAF builds strong capabilities, optimises our defence spending, and builds strong partnerships. Together with the support from the community, all these efforts have allowed us to enjoy the peaceful, ordinary moments every day.

On 1 July 2026, every SAF serviceman and woman will reaffirm our commitment to the defence of Singapore, our home.

This SAF Day, we recognise the extraordinary effort behind every ordinary moment in Singapore - the food on our tables, the freedom to move about, and the peace we wake up to each day. All these rest on a strong and capable SAF, sharpened by how we stretch our defence dollar and forge partnerships with friends beyond our shores.

In this SAF Day 2026 engagement package, we highlight:

(a) how MINDEF/SAF is adapting to evolving threats and a changing global environment by spending on what is necessary to meet Singapore's defence needs;

(b) how MINDEF/SAF is strengthening our capabilities and building key defence partnerships; and

(c) the essential role of National Service (NS) in ensuring Singapore's defence and security, and highlight that defence is a whole-of-society effort.

Commanders and Department Heads are encouraged to use the NE package in their engagements to spark meaningful conversations about the work that keeps our ordinary moments possible.
